Community volunteers from Islington, Hackney and Haringey worked with the street cleansing teams from the three boroughs, including the Veolia team in Haringey, at a community cleanup day on Thursday 21st August.
Volunteers from the Finsbury Park mosque helped pick up litter while mechanised street cleaning machines and jet washing crews gave the area where three boroughs meet a deep clean. On the Haringey side of Stroud Green Road and Seven Sisters Road the Veolia team used an array of mechanical sweeping vehicles on the roads and pavements, alongside the street cleansing team. In total the street cleaning crews picking up two tonnes of rubbish on the day.
