Western Road site will replace High Street Hornsey site on Wednesday 25 June
On Wednesday (25 June) a new Reuse and Recycling Centre (HWRC) for Haringey opens at Western Road, Wood Green (N22 6UG).
The new centre, just north of the junction with Coburg Road, replaces the High Street Hornsey site which will close on Monday (23 June). On Tuesday (24 June) the containers and equipment will be transported to the new Western Road site, which means both sites will be closed for one day only. The nearest alternative site is Park View Road, Tottenham, N17 9AY.
The move is necessary because the existing High Street Hornsey site, owned by London Borough of Haringey, is to be redeveloped. The new HWRC at Western Road will be managed by North London Waste Authority, through its contractor LondonWaste Ltd.
David Beadle, managing director of NLWA, said: “We’ve worked hard to make the move as seamless as possible and kept the closure to a minimum of one day. Leaflets are being handed out at the site to inform regular users of the move and there will be signage at the old site showing the location of the new site.”
